Term: 3-6 months
Position Summary
The Community Relations team is responsible for planning and executing programs, events and partnerships that support and celebrate our unique and diverse fanbase. We connect our fans to our players and drive programs that support British Columbians. We want to give back and do our part to make our communities stronger. This is a temporary contract expected to last 3-6 months.
This Role Will Focus On
Lead our Hockey is for Everyone (HIFE) programming, including cultural community engagement games such as Diwali, Lunar New Year, Black Excellence, Filipino Heritage, First Nations Celebration, etc.
Collaborate with Marketing department to understand the demographics of our fanbase and develop social impact programs and partnerships that are important to the fanbase
Lead and collaborate with key partners, influencers, and committees to support programs and strategies
Assist with game night, player and family programs, and appearances as required
Completing end-of-season reports on all Social Impact programs
Work closely with the Canucks Family Education Centre and other key charitable partners
Support minor hockey growth initiatives as required
Support Canucks for Kids Fund events as required
Support the Vancouver Warriors with community engagement and social impact programming, as required
Required Experience And Qualifications
A degree or diploma in a related field and 3-4 years of relevant work experience
A team player with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
Excellent interpersonal skills, highly professional, and a natural at delivering great customer service
Ability to adapt easily to changing priorities and schedules while working to meet deadlines
Effective time management and multi-tasking skills with superior attention to detail
Strong computer and technical skills, including MS Office and database management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work weekends and evenings for special events and game nights, as required
Knowledge of and experience with DE&A I or social impact programming is an asset
Experience in community or non-profit work is an asset
