As Director, Research Operations, reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead the operational foundation that enables player‑led research to be predictable, fast, scalable, and trusted across EA's global portfolio.
You will manage the systems, partners, labs, and programs that power our research will lead a globally distributed Research Operations team, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure every study, across every franchise, connects with the right players and delivers meaningful impact on time.
You will help enable EA's growth by connecting teams to new players, markets, and platforms. You will own the strategy and execution of EA's play testing ecosystem - spanning methods, mediums, and scale - to ensure we reach players faster, smarter, and with greater impact.
What You'll Do Research Program Management- You will lead the operational delivery of research programs from intake through execution and final delivery, ensuring consistency, quality, and predictability at scale.
- Standardize workflows, timelines, and resourcing to reduce friction, increase throughput, and enable efficient global operations.
- Partner closely with Research, Data, and Studios leadership to prioritize initiatives and align on strategic goals.
- Ensure that EA uses the right partners for the right research needs through its global research vendor ecosystem.
- You will stay deeply informed on the vendor landscape and emerging capabilities to guide smart, future‑ready choices.
- Pilot new vendors, tools, and approaches to assess quality, speed, scalability, and player experience before scaling.
- Define and deliver a global strategy for player recruitment and lab operations that ensures fast access to the right players and consistently high‑quality research execution.
- Ensure global playtest labs are operationally excellent: scalable, compliant, well‑staffed, and optimized for speed, reliability, and insight quality.
- Build and evolve recruitment pipelines, panels, and processes to reduce time‑to‑recruit while improving player fit and diversity.
- Continuously improve lab workflows, tooling, and standards to meet the pace and demands of modern game development.
- 8+ years of experience in Research Operations, UX Operations, or Research Program Management.
- 5+ years leading managers or large, multi‑layered global teams.
- Hands‑on expertise is a must:
- Playtest lab and field operations
- Research program management
- Participant and player recruitment at scale
- Strong operational judgment with the ability to design systems that scale.
- Clear communicator who aligns stakeholders on decisions, and demonstrates measurable ROI through defined metrics.
- A passion for games and player‑centred development.

Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top‑up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full‑time employees.
