Overview Lead theatre operations for Arts Umbrella, fostering creativity in young artists in Vancouver. This full time role focuses on managing theatre logistics, staff, and production readiness. Arts Umbrella is seeking a Manager for its theatre operations to ensure a safe and organized creative environment. Reporting to the COO, this role involves overseeing day-to-day theatre functions, including scheduling, staffing, and operational practices.
With a strong background in technical theatre and production, you will play a vital role in supporting rehearsals and events.
Responsibilities Oversee theatre and production space daily operations
Coordinate scheduling with programming and artistic teams
Support events with technical coordination and setup
Manage Scene Shop access, materials, and safety
Recruit, onboard, and supervise theatre staff and contractors
Requirements 3+ years in theatre operations or related field
Post-secondary training in Technical Theatre preferred
Knowledge of lighting, sound, and scenic construction
Experience with production logistics and scheduling
Strong organizational and communication skills
