Head Technician for Chan Centre Productions

Lead the technical stage operations at UBC's Chan Centre for the Performing Arts as the Assistant Head Technician. This role is integral to managing backstage processes and ensuring high-quality productions for various performances and events.

You will support and supervise staff, helping to train the team while maintaining a focus on client satisfaction and safety. Your background in stage management and technical skills in rigging and lighting will be critical for successfully overseeing productions and resolving any challenges that may occur.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all backstage activities during performances

• Train and motivate stage and production crews

• Ensure client specifications are met for each event

• Directly liaise with coordinators for operational success

• Maintain venue security and emergency protocols

Requirements:

• Diploma in arts production or relevant experience

• Five years of production experience required

• Specific skills in lighting and rigging necessary
