As a CG Supervisor, you bring extensive industry experience, with over 10 years of expertise in the industry.

Working under the direction of the VFX Supervisor, the CG Supervisor ensures all shots are delivered to the highest standard expected and support the creative vision of the Director by directing the artists’ creative work, technical skills and communication. Determines technical approaches needed to achieve desired look and behaviors of the production's assets within agreed on technical pipeline. Identifies, defines, prioritizes and oversees the implementation of tools that automate production tasks.

Makes creative decisions and comments about shots in order to achieve the required look and meet creative direction. Builds consensus among technology, creative and production management to create efficiencies. Serves as key technical expert on productions. Accountable for on time, on budget execution and delivery, as well as quality, of the majority of outcomes of the technical pipeline.

Responsibilities:

Interpret the Director’s vision while ensuring artistic quality, content and continuity.

Directs show leads and artists to provide both technical leadership at both the facility and project level in order to keep the workflow continuous and productive.

Collaborate with technology, creative, and production to optimize show-specific processes.

Actively participate in high-level show tech meetings to contribute to strategic discussions.

Lead the development of flexible and efficient CG pipelines to meet creative briefs, incorporating both existing and new technologies.

Assist with show setup, ability to determine the necessary toolset and resources depending on the type of show.

Effectively communicating implementations and solutions between the various Departments.

Delegate responsibility effectively and provide ongoing feedback by keeping Production and Supervisors abreast of any changes, issues, concerns and progress on a regular basis.

Run a lighting team with regular team meetings for progress assessment, feedback, and issue resolution.

Represent the team confidently in internal and client reviews.

Scheduling, workload assignment and balancing alongside show coordinator and production.

Flag and collaborate with production management on crewing needs.

Assist when needed with recruitment for the facility and/ or production.

Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and well-being and ensuring eam morale.

Provide mentoring/training when necessary.

Support the promotion of artists and show accomplishments.

Participate in the review process by providing feedback to department management.

Available to participate in work sessions with supervisors and leads from other shows tomake sure tools and techniques used on their show are in line with the goal of keepingthings standardized and flexible enough so they can benefit other current and future

Shows.

On-set supervision experience is helpful, but not required.

In the absence of the VFX supervisor, the CG Supervisor assists in budgeting, interprets client notes and gives notes to artists to complete shots.

Qualifications:

Experience as a CG Supervisor or Sequence Supervisor working on high end live actionVFX work.

Thorough understanding of the complete VFX pipeline.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Must be a skilled decision maker, ability to problem solve as well as identify potential issues.

Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.

Advanced understanding of show-specific processes and workflows.

Proven experience in optimizing workflows and ensuring optimal results.

Demonstrated ability to provide strategic input in high-level discussions.
