OverviewJoin RBC’s Global Risk Management and work as an AML Financial Intelligence Unit Investigator. As an Investigator you will plan, conduct and complete risk‑based investigations into money laundering, financing of terrorism and other criminal activities and report findings to the regulatory authorities.
Responsibilities- Plan, conduct and complete risk based investigations into matters identified from media scans, transaction monitoring, and unusual transaction reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all investigative actions and decisions taken
- Ensure that all material and information obtained is treated in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and RBC policy
- Gather information and intelligence from all available sources to determine sufficient suspicion of money laundering or financing of terrorism
- Prepare relevant reports and documentation for any action proposed based on investigation results
- Promote and adhere to RBC’s policies and guidelines on Code of Conduct, Personal and Professional Development, Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Data Protection and Information Security
- Work with the Global AML‑FIU Investigation Team and other FIU partners to conduct investigations within defined timelines and escalated in accordance with policies
- AML background in Canadian banking
- Strong investigative and analytical skills and ability to think outside the box
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to gather and present complex information in a simple concise manner
- Undergraduate degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice Studies preferred

This posting is for a 4‑month Summer 2026 Student placement with a start date of May 2026 and end date of August 2026. Eligibility requirements:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end‑date of August 2026; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e., graduating in August 2026), you must require the full 4‑month work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully.
