Overview

The Cash Management Group at Canaccord Genuity is looking for a Wealth and Estate Planning Specialist to join our high-performing team of finance professionals. We manage approximately $6 billion in client assets and employ like-minded individuals who display grit, integrity, hard work, and an ability to think outside the box.

As a Wealth Planning Specialist, you will deliver personalized and comprehensive financial planning services to high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients. This role combines strategic planning, relationship management, and technical expertise to support advisors and elevate client experiences within our private wealth group. You need to have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a sharp attention to detail to succeed in this role.

This is a full-time onsite position out of our downtown Vancouver office.

Base pay range

CA $85,000.00/yr - CA$/yr

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver personalized financial plans using Conquest software for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
  • Tailor plans to address complex client needs such as holding companies, stock options, IPPs, RCAs, charitable giving, and estate planning.
  • Conduct client discovery meetings to assess financial goals and build holistic strategies.
  • Present financial plans in client meetings alongside our private wealth Investment Advisors.
  • Provide recommendations across investment, tax, retirement, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to our Investment Advisors, simplifying complex strategies to support business development.
  • Strengthen relationships with advisors and clients to deepen engagement and identify new opportunities.
  • Integrate total wealth solutions (Tax, Insurance, Estate & Trust, Charitable Giving) to deliver integrated planning solutions.
  • Support business development for mass affluent and HNW clients, identifying cross-sell and referral opportunities.
  • Analyze client tax scenarios and deliver personalized tax-efficient strategies (e.g., RRSP/RRIF withdrawals).
  • Occasionally prepare personal and corporate tax packages for clients.
  • Participate in firm-wide projects, marketing initiatives, and development of thought leadership content.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial planning trends, legislation, and strategies.
Skills and Qualifications
  • CFP designation required (other tax planning designations are assets).
  • Completion of or willingness to complete CSC and CPH.
  • 5+ years in comprehensive and complex financial planning roles.
  • 5+ years of client-facing experience, preferably in wealth management or advisory.
  • Strong proficiency in Conquest and Excel; knowledge of Dataphile, YCharts, Envestnet an asset.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and in teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and a proactive, client-focused mindset.
