Senior Accountant (Growing Real Estate & Construction Company, Vancouver, BC)
We are working with a growing real estate and construction company that is hiring a Senior Accountant to support its expanding portfolio. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting directly to the VP of Finance, with strong exposure across corporate accounting, tax, reporting, and asset management.
The organization is lean, hands‑on, and operates at a level typically seen in much larger groups. This role offers real ownership and clear potential to grow into an Accounting Manager or Controller position over time.
Compensation: $120,000–$130,000 base
Work model: In‑office with flexible hours (no formal hybrid policy)
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a group of real estate entities
- Prepare corporate tax returns and tax working papers
- Prepare and manage weekly corporate cash flow reporting
- Assist with tax planning deliverables, including multi‑year and quarterly forecasts and tax loss tracking
- Support corporate budgeting, overhead tracking, and insurance applications
- Prepare asset management reporting packages, including budget vs. actuals, cash flow, and operating budgets
- Assist with investor reporting for rental properties
- Manage real estate compliance and reporting requirements, including lender and CMHC reporting, Empty Homes Tax, and Speculation & Vacancy Tax
- Support internal controls, policies, procedures, and systems development
- Register GST and corporate tax accounts for new entities
- Assist with entity wind‑ups, dissolutions, and amalgamations
- Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives as required
- CPA designation or near completion preferred
- Experience in real estate, construction, or asset‑based businesses
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting, tax, and financial reporting
- Comfortable working in a small, fast‑moving environment with broad responsibility
- Interested in long‑term growth and increased leadership scope
