Senior Financial Reporting Manager on a 12-month contract
. This role exists to strengthen financial reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and reporting efficiency within a global asset management organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality external reporting under US GAAP while helping modernize finance processes and systems. This is an opportunity to influence financial reporting at a strategic level while leading a team and supporting finance transformation initiatives.
- Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual filings under US GAAP
- Oversee external financial reporting and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
- Partner with auditors to support accurate and timely financial statement delivery
- Drive improvements to financial close and reporting processes through technology and best practices
- Assess and implement accounting treatment for new transactions and new accounting standards
- Develop structured documentation and deliver training related to accounting changes
- Strengthen internal controls to protect company assets and improve reporting integrity
- Oversee internal reporting to the board and executive leadership team
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making
- Enhance reporting processes to improve accuracy and timeliness
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Manage performance expectations and ensure high-quality deliverables
- Support cross-border operations and navigate international reporting considerations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or related field
- CPA designation required
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory reporting
- Experience preparing public company filings
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and meet tight deadlines
- Experience working with international operations
- Strong process improvement and analytical capabilities
- ERP experience, including end-to-end system exposure
- Project management or system implementation experience
- Experience with Oracle Net Suite or Oracle Fusion is an asset
- Experience in shipping or transportation is an asset
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required to meet deadlines or support global teams
$135,000 - $155,000 CAD per year, commensurate with experience, plus competitive benefits.
