Description
Reporting to the Director, Taxation, the Senior Corporate Tax Analyst will assist with financial reporting, Canadian and U.S. tax compliance, and to provide analysis in support of corporate strategies.
This is a hybrid position based at our Vancouver office.
Responsibilities
Prepare workpapers and tax returns to support the Canadian and U.S. statutory tax compliance process.Assist with the tax provision process to determine the tax expenses and tax attributes at each quarter-end and year-end.Assist with the maintenance of corporate transfer pricing relationships.Participate in transaction-driven discussions and assist the Director, Taxation with any follow-up research and tax analyses.Assist with forecasting cash taxes and tax attributes.Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a role with substantial U.S. Tax exposure;
Canadian Tax experience is considered an asset.Professional accounting certification such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is required.Effective and efficient written (minimum 100 WPM) and verbal communication skills.Digitally-savvy, with specific proficiency in Microsoft Excel and One Source Income Tax, and a motivation to upskill using available technology and resources.Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Strong business perceptiveness with ability to apply tax knowledge to a dynamic industry landscape.Possess excellent interpersonal skills reflected in the ability to collaborate with not only a diverse set of colleagues across the organisation, but also with external service providers.Curiosity and receptiveness to the usage of Artificial Intelligence in a changing work environment.Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while meeting both internal reporting and statutory deadlines.A self-starter, a proactive learner, and enjoy working on teams with a high level of self-discipline and initiative.Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is $100,000 – $125,000 annually. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.Our group benefits package, which has no waiting period, includes extended health and dental benefits, in addition to a Health Care Spending Account and a fitness allowance.RRSP – We provide a competitive RRSP contribution plan, with base contributions made by Mercer which can be supplemented with personal contributions matched by the company up to a certain percentage.Application Process
