PROFILE SUMMARY

Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a highly engaged, driven and experienced Corporate Accountant to join our team.

In this role, you will assist with preparation of quarterly financial statements and support accounting processes, along with the preparation of various reporting packages. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Core Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare, enter, and post monthly journal entries and accruals for multiple entities.
  • Oversee timely month-end close, ensuring accounts are reconciled and reviewed.
  • Generate financial statements, supporting schedules, and reports for multiple entities.
  • Prepare monthly tax reconciliations and remittances.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting working papers for audits.

Analysis & Reconciliation

  • Analyze revenue and expense variances.
  • Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing the company overhead budget and reforecasting process.

Operational Support

  • Calculate and track interest on loans and lending arrangements.
  • Manage prepaid expenses and amortization schedules.
  • Create invoices for chargebacks to related parties (utilities, insurance, etc.).
  • Review and journalize corporate card expense reports and reimbursements.
  • Prepare additional financial reporting requirements as needed.
  • Perform ad-hoc reports or tasks as required by managers.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting (or equivalent post-secondary education).
  • Solid knowledge of general accounting principles and 2–3 years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Enrollment in the CPA PEP program is an asset.
  • Real estate industry experience is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Yardi Voyager is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Reliable work ethic, effective time management, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

  • Annual Base Salary:
    The expected salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 per annum. Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
  • Annual Bonus Program:
