Corporate Controller

Starboard Recruitment, on behalf of our mining client, is searching for an experienced Corporate Controller.

Our client is a top-tier Uranium mining co with a market cap of $8BN. This is one of the most exciting mining projects to be a part of in Canada right now.

Reporting to the VP, Finance in the Vancouver office, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for the financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for the Company. This position will play a key role in the development and execution of the Company’s financial reporting requirements under IFRS under the TSX, NYSE, and ASX.

• Deliver accurate and timely financial, project, and management reporting in accordance with IFRS, meeting public company requirements for the TSX, NYSE, and ASX.

• Coordinate the preparation, review, and filing of consolidated financial statements, including notes, MD&A, AIF, and individual legal-entity financials.

• Perform technical accounting research and analysis to support complex transactions and reporting conclusions.

• Prepare and support regulatory and internal submissions, including NRCan, ESTMA, Local Priority Area reports, MIC filings, and sustainability disclosures.

• Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting for the Finance team and broader organization.

• Own monthly reporting and variance analysis for Corporate departments, with backup responsibility for budget-to-actual analysis within Project teams.

• Maintain a strong internal control framework, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and adherence to established financial governance standards.

• Partner with department leaders during the annual budgeting process to ensure accuracy, alignment, and accountability.

• Identify, lead, and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Oversee the Company’s cash management and treasury activities.

• Support capital-raising initiatives and prepare financial covenant and lender reporting packages.

• Manage tax planning activities and work closely with external tax advisors to optimize structure and compliance.

• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to team members on accounting matters, transactions, restructurings, and financial reporting.

• Regular travel to the Saskatoon office is required.

• CPA designation (or equivalent) with a post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and experience operating within a SOX-compliant environment.

• Experience in the mining sector or large-scale capital projects is considered an asset.

• Demonstrated people leadership with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and seniority levels.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); strong experience with Power Pivot and Power Query required. Familiarity with SAP Business ByDesign or SAP HANA and Workiva is an asset.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities.
