Lead treasury and balance sheet risk oversight at Vancity through liquidity expertise, independent challenge, and senior stakeholder influence in a hybrid role.
As Director, Treasury and Balance Sheet Risk, you will provide enterprise-wide financial risk leadership. You will assess liquidity, funding, interest rate, and market risks while translating complex analysis into clear senior-level insights. Reporting to the Vice President, Risk Management - Finance & Treasury, you will partner with Treasury, Finance, and related functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead independent oversight of treasury and balance sheet risks
- Challenge strategies, exposures, limits, assumptions, models, and practices
- Monitor exposures and emerging trends against risk appetite
- Evaluate stress-testing and scenario-analysis outcomes for vulnerabilities
- Report and escalate material exposures, breaches, and concerns
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- At least 10 years’ progressively responsible financial risk experience
- Deep knowledge of liquidity, funding, interest rate, and market risk
- Experience providing independent oversight and constructive senior challenge
- Relevant professional designation such as Financial Risk Manager
