The Environmental Regulation & Enforcement Department is seeking a qualified Permitting and Enforcement Officer. This role involves a blend of technical assessments, compliance monitoring, and public interaction to ensure adherence to environmental regulations. Strong investigative skills, knowledge of waste management processes, and effective communication are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and draft air and waste discharge permits

• Conduct inspections and monitor wastewater discharges

• Prepare technical reports on compliance assessments

• Investigate public complaints regarding air quality

• Collaborate with industries to enhance pollution control efforts

Requirements:

• Diploma with focus on Chemistry and pollution control

• Experience in regulatory compliance and investigations

• Familiarity with air pollution control technologies

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Valid Driver's License for B.C.
