Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce laws and maintain public order
• Patrol neighborhoods on foot or by bicycle
• Operate police vehicles during emergencies
• Utilize arrest-and-control and de-escalation techniques
• Provide assistance during community events or emergencies
Requirements:
• Minimum 19 years old and in excellent health
• Valid BC class 5 driver’s licence with good record
• Current Standard/Intermediate First Aid certification
• Grade 12 diploma and 30 post-secondary credits
• Commitment to the VPD's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect
