Cultural and Administrative Support Worker – Reaching Home

Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society (VAHS) is a community-driven non-profit located in the Downtown Eastside. For more than 30 years, VAHS has offered culturally grounded, holistic programs that support the physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental wellness of Indigenous people living in Vancouver.

About the Role

The Cultural and Administrative Support Worker supports Indigenous families accessing the Reaching Home Indigenous Early Years (IEY) Program
, which focuses on homelessness prevention and cultural wellness. This role helps connect families to resources, provides cultural engagement support, and assists with reporting and administrative needs alongside the IEY Reaching Home Outreach Worker.

Key Responsibilities

Support families through culturally relevant engagement (crafting, medicines, food preservation, ceremony)

Provide advocacy, system navigation, and referrals to community services

Assist with documentation, data tracking, and reporting needs

Support planning and delivery of IEY and Reaching Home programming

Schedule:
Full-time (40 hrs/week),
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
, with occasional evening programming
Contract Ends March 31, 2026

Qualifications & Experience

Connection to your own Cultural Teachings and Practices

Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting Indigenous families in a cultural or support role

Experience or knowledge of homelessness prevention supports

Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills

Knowledge of local Indigenous community resources

Driver’s License and reliable vehicle are an asset
