JOB SUMMARY
:
Responsible for the overall coordination of day-to-day operations at Santiago Lodge, Cecelia House and Sommerville Place, The Bloom Group’s mental health housing buildings with a combined number of (70) beds. Oversees the development and implementation of program procedures and services in alignment with The Bloom Group’s policies, ensuring that all program deliverables and regulatory requirements are met.
Champions quality improvement initiatives, and fosters a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment. Committed to ongoing professional development, and coordinates partnerships between Santiago, Cecelia and Somerville programs community partners and service providers. Maintains compliance with best practise standards and ensures adherence to annual requirements set by contract funders.
EDUCATION/PREVIOUS
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other equivalent education in social/human services with experience in gerontology, mental health and addictions issues an asset.Five (5) years’ experience working in community mental health, addictions, assisted living or residential services.Level 1 Occupational First Aid Certificate is required.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or Mandt training is preferred.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of strengths-based, recovery, and harm reduction principles and practices in mental health care and addictions.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Ability to take initiative and work with minimal amount of supervision.Ability to work in a stressful and changing work environment.Ability to operate basic computer programs, MS Windows environment, MS Outlook, Word and Excel.Ability to assist in developing, implementing and evaluating programs.Ability to supervise, provide guidance and coach.Ability to be self-reflective and committed to one’s own professional development.Ability to foster a working environment of collaboration, skill, respect, and enthusiasm.Strong leadership skills.Ability to work with, and empathize with people experiencing abuse, poverty, family violence, cross-cultural issues, addictions, AIDS, and other life-limiting illnesses, mental illness, and the grief process.Please submit your application via email to careers with the job posting number in the subject line.
