Project Coordinator, Molecular Imaging and Therapy

This role will support the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Program reporting to a Provincial Programs Manager. This role will predominantly work at the IAMI location to start, potential for hybrid remote work. Due to the nature of the role, the ability to travel within the Vancouver area may also be required.

The Project Coordinator works in collaboration with the Program Manager(s) to identify and prioritize projects and is responsible for the coordination of information dissemination, and education for key partners including the public, service providers, and relevant policy/decision makers; and/or research, health system support, and academic development.

The Project Coordinator is actively involved in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of such projects, and maintains primary project coordination responsibility. Supports team efforts with internal and external partners on ongoing programs and initiatives to improve the quality and accessibility of health services, health promotion and prevention efforts, and in related research and knowledge exchange activities. Coordinates a diversity of projects of varying size and scope in a complex and changing multidisciplinary environment.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor and coordinate the execution of projects, ensuring that they adhere to project protocols, that they conform to applicable institutional policies, and that they are completed within the required timelines.
  • Identify, collect, and analyze relevant information relating to current projects, and provides input and recommendations to project team for development, implementation, analysis, dissemination of findings, and policy/practice implications.
  • Actively support the management and facilitation of time-limited projects and programs to identify best strategies and activities for team members and other partners, including identifying appropriate staff and assisting them to access and utilize appropriate project management tools and resources.
  • Coordinate and arrange project team meetings in consideration of urgency and nature of the subject matter. Prepares documents including presentation, spreadsheets, correspondence, meeting minutes and reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Present project updates to internal groups, external agencies, organizations, and other partners. Develops communication plans and assists with the dissemination of information and knowledge related to projects and key initiatives through a variety of mediums.
  • Monitor period, quarterly, mid-year and year-end budget expenditures and reports variances. Gathers and summarizes financial information related to assigned projects for submission to the project lead and sponsor.
  • In collaboration with Project Manager and/or Director, coordinates the implementation of approved recommendations resulting from previous projects, research, best practice, and policy reviews.
  • What you bring

    Qualifications:

  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Health or Social Sciences plus a five (5) years in a related research assistant, project coordinator, or policy analyst role in a health, social services, government, or community organization.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism and systemic racism on Indigenous Peoples within social and health contexts. This includes understanding how these factors contribute to current health disparities and barriers to care. Show a clear commitment to identifying, challenging, and eradicating Indigenous-specific racism and all forms of discrimination impacting equity-deserving groups within healthcare settings. This involves recognizing personal biases, institutional barriers, engaging in anti-racism education and training and advocating for systemic change.
