Job Purpose
GSK is looking to hire a Therapeutic Specialist, Hepatology to join our Specialty Care & Innovation Business Unit. This role is field-based covering the BC & Saskatchewan territories, and reports directly to the Hepatology National Sales Manager. The ideal candidate must reside within the responsible territory to ensure effective local engagement and coverage.
Responsibilities- Developing and implementing strategic business plans tailored to your territory, setting and achieving both short- and long-term goals
- Building strong, trust-based relationships with healthcare professionals, hospital and clinic decision-makers, and allied healthcare stakeholders to optimize patient outcomes
- Designing and driving unique, customer-focused initiatives to build GSK advocacy, accelerate launch uptake and future portfolio growth
- Engaging in meaningful scientific discussions with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal use of Hepatology medicine(s)
- Collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to develop and execute programs that improve patient care and align with brand strategies
- Navigating challenges within your territory effectively and leveraging business acumen to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities
- Preparing and managing territory budgets with accountability for resource allocation
- Conducting impactful daily customer calls to drive measurable contributions to patient access and market growth
- Executing field programs such as Lunch & Learns, scientific engagements, and other educational initiatives
- Ensuring all activities align with internal compliance and regulatory standards while consistently acting with integrity
- Managing complex multi-stakeholder Hepatology environments, balancing immediate patient needs with long-term growth objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, marketing, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Hepatology or proven success launching products in competitive markets
- Strong working knowledge of scientific research study interpretation and functional data analysis techniques
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals, physicians, and hospital stakeholders
- Proven ability to build and maintain a network of healthcare stakeholders and access to physician networks
- Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills with exposure to cross-functional teams (medical, marketing, government affairs)
- Self-starter with ability to work autonomously and drive business growth
- Results-oriented with ability to proactively identify opportunities and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes
- High learning agility and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within a large geography while optimizing travel efficiency (minimizing windshield time)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for company vehicle eligibility)
- Advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the healthcare landscape, including local market dynamics and provider networks within the territory
- Experience working with Hepatology centers
This position requires the employee to drive routinely on company business and allows for the provision of a company-leased vehicle. However, to be eligible for this position and a company vehicle, GSK will need to obtain acceptable results from a license verification inquiry and drivers abstract review against its safe driver program requirements.
CompensationIn compliance with British Columbia provincial pay transparency legislation, this job posting includes a salary range to support equitable and informed hiring practices. The annual compensation for this role is CAD
96,750 to CAD
161,250, determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
