You will promote high public health and environmental conditions as part of a team at Vancouver Coastal Health. The Environmental Health Officer is responsible for identifying factors that compromise community health and enforcing regulations. Your duties will also include inspections, educational outreach, and the preparation of detailed reports.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough inspections using a risk-based approach
• Enforce compliance and issue violation tickets as necessary
• Analyze inspections and summarize findings through comprehensive reports
• Engage in educational outreach to promote health awareness
• Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Environmental Health
• Certified Public Health Inspector in Canada (CPHI(C))
• Valid BC Driver's License for travel purposes
• Ability to interpret complex technical documents
• Knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety and public health regulations
