Indigenous Public Health Prevention Officer

Become an Environmental Public Health Officer with Indigenous Services Canada, working to promote health safety in Indigenous communities. This role is full-time and includes frequent travel to various remote locations.

You will play a key role in the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, focusing on environmental health protection through inspections and community education. Partnering with local leaders, you'll address public health challenges and implement best practices across regions. Your expertise will directly enhance health and safety in these underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert public health evaluations and inspections

• Educate First Nations about health risks and safety measures

• Collaborate with community leaders for effective health solutions

• Monitor compliance with health regulations and standards

• Conduct surveys on environmental public health challenges

Requirements:

• Recognized degree in Health Sciences or related fields

• Required Certificate in Public Health Inspection

• Five-plus years’ experience in a similar role

• Abilities in effective communication and public education

• Willing to travel for health outreach and training
