The salary range for this position is CAD $46.37/Hr.

The Spiritual Health Practitioner, Lead provides clinical, operational, and team leadership for Spiritual Health and Pastoral Care services within a person - and family - centred model of care. Reporting to the Director, Spiritual Health and Pastoral Care, the role supports the delivery of compassionate, culturally responsive, and spiritually inclusive care while advancing Providence Health Care’s Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic priorities.

• Provides leadership and coordination for Spiritual Health and Pastoral Care services, guiding practitioners, on-call resources, and designated staff to support consistent, high-quality person-centred care.
• Coordinates work activities, contributes to recruitment, conducts performance evaluations, and supports constructive resolution of workplace concerns.
• Leads program and service development in collaboration with the Director, including planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating departmental strategic directions, policies, procedures, and initiatives that strengthen the integration of spiritual health across the organization.
• Delivers comprehensive spiritual and emotional care to patients, residents, clients, families, and staff, including assessment of spiritual care needs, crisis support, and compassionate assistance during serious illness, loss, and end-of-life discussions in ways that respect individual beliefs, cultures, values, and traditions.
• Advances education, mentorship, and professional development by providing spiritual health education to staff, patients, residents, families, volunteers, and community partners, and by mentoring, supervising, and supporting Clinical Psycho spiritual Education interns, residents, students, and other learners.
• Builds collaborative partnerships internally and within the community, working closely with interdisciplinary health-care teams, community clergy, faith and spiritual leaders, support groups, and other partners to enhance clinical care, education, research, family support, and staff development.
• Supports organizational responsiveness and continuity of spiritual care by mentoring community faith leaders and volunteers, participating in on-call and back-up on-call responsibilities as required, and responding to organizational emergencies while promoting a safe, respectful, inclusive, and civil environment for all.

Education, Training and Experience

• Master’s degree in health care, Theology, Public and Pastoral Leadership, Counseling, Spiritual Practices, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Completion of Clinical Psycho spiritual Education (CPE), including an Advanced (Contextual) unit.
• Certification as a Spiritual Health Practitioner with CASC/ACSS is preferred.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a leadership capacity.
• Maintains good standing in a spiritual, religious, or faith community affiliated with the individual’s chosen tradition
