Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Manager, Organizational Development and Compliance will play a key role in delivering Founders Metals’ people strategy across Canada and Suriname. Based at our Vancouver head office, this role has three areas of responsibility:

• It manages day-to-day HR for Vancouver head office employees and expatriates.
• It leads organizational development across the company, building people and organizational capability through learning and development, leadership development, performance management, succession, change management, engagement and culture.
• It owns the compliance function across the company, managing the process to develop, disseminate, train on and monitor corporate policies, with subject matter experts providing the content.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of HR operations, organizational development, compliance and change management in a dynamic, multilingual, multi-site environment spanning Canada and Suriname. It plays an important part in ensuring employees and contractors are informed, prepared and equipped to adopt new policies, systems and ways of working.

A critical priority is building local capability in Suriname by developing local talent through structured knowledge-sharing and mentoring initiatives that enable expatriates to contribute their expertise and support organizational capability development among Surinamese employees, in line with the company’s commitments to local authorities.

The role works in close partnership with the Country HR Manager – Suriname, who leads HR operations on site. A separate role clarification document outlining each role’s responsibilities and points of contact will be shared with candidates who advance beyond the initial screening.

This role manages HR operations for head office employees, as well as for expatriates, who are considered head office personnel.

• Manage day-to-day HR for head office staff, including hiring, onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, leaves and employee relations.
• Together with the Country HR Manager, manage HR matters for the management team in Suriname, including hiring, job evaluations, job descriptions, and employment and contractor agreement management.
