Position OverviewWe are a worldwide leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software. As a remote/hybrid Senior Applied Scientist on the Applied ML team, you will develop high‑quality machine learning models, conduct statistical analysis, and apply the latest technologies to solve complex problems. Your work will influence product strategy and impact how customers use Autodesk products.
Responsibilities- You will focus on understanding customer usage and promoting Autodesk products, influencing development and strategy.
- You will design machine learning pipelines to enhance decision‑making and collaborate with cross‑functional leaders for data‑driven decisions.
- You will report to the Applied ML Manager, mentor junior team members, and help deliver key ML features.
- MS/PhD in a quantitative field:
Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Statistics/Analytics, Computer Science, or related areas. - Experience with Large Language Models (RAG, Generative AI) and NLP.
- 4+ years of industry experience designing, analyzing, and deploying machine learning solutions.
- Experience working with relational SQL and/or No
SQL databases. - Fluency with one or more programming languages:
Python, Java, Scala, etc. - Experience with data science toolkits such as pandas, Jupyter, scikit‑learn, Tensor Flow, etc.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques, e.g., classification, clustering, regularization, optimization, dimensionality reduction, etc.
- Proficient in writing high‑quality, well‑documented, scalable code, with a preference for Python.
- Experience with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Hive).
- Clear communication of complex concepts to non‑technical audiences and effective presentation of data.
- Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS).
- Experience with recommender systems.
- Initiative to take on big ideas and transform them into actionable insights through data mining.
- Experience with MLOps and optimization of ML workflows.
- Led research resulting in publications.
For Canada‑BC based roles, the starting base salary ranges between $106,500 and $156,200. Offers vary by experience and location, and may exceed this range. Compensation may additionally include annual bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
