Role Summary As a Data Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with a dynamic engineering team to design and optimize data pipelines, enabling actionable insights that enhance vehicle performance and business processes.

This role focuses on building robust data infrastructure to support Rivian’s innovation goals. Responsibilities Develop and optimize SQL and Python-based transformation code to process and curate data for analytics and reporting. Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines and analytics workflows. Monitor and improve the performance and reliability of data pipelines, platforms, and infrastructure. Contribute to data modeling efforts and ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Work closely with analytics teams to ensure data needs are met and support colleagues across the business. Develop automated testing to champion data quality and integrate systems with CI/CD workflows. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at an accredited Canadian university. Proficient in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation.

Preferred Qualifications Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field with the intent to return to school following completion of internship. Experience in data engineering or analytics engineering. Familiarity with foundational concepts of scalable data pipelines on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). Familiarity with cloud data platforms, such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Google Big Query.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform). Familiarity with data transformation tools such as dbt. Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies internships & co-ops are experiences optimized for student candidates. Note that if your university has specific requirements for internship programs, it is your responsibility to fulfill those requirements. Pay Disclosure Canada Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships:
The range of pay for internships in Canada is $22-$27 CAD per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. Total Rewards Total compensation packages for this position include base salary, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, and eligibility for equity.
