We are seeking a Senior Banking Production Support Analyst to support our credit union and financial institution clients across Canada. As part of CGI’s national retail banking practice, you will join an experienced team helping clients navigate significant industry transformation.
Credit unions are facing rapid changes driven by digital transformation, including mobile services, analytics, automation, open banking, and partnerships with Fin Techs. CGI helps clients modernize operations and stay competitive by guiding them through these evolving technological and customer experience demands.
As a Senior Banking Production Support Analyst , you will ensure stable and efficient core banking environments, including batch processing, daily operations, incident management, and application monitoring. You will support environment builds, deployments, and upgrades while driving reliability improvements. The role requires strong technical leadership, independent execution, and effective collaboration with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Windows configuration and support
• Script and batch writing
• Technical people leadership
• ITIL Framework
• Financial transaction-based applications
• Power Shell and CMD scripting for automation and operational tasks
• Build, support, and troubleshoot batch jobs and schedules (Control M or GECS).
• Strong SQL Server skills including queries, troubleshooting, database refreshes, and connection level diagnostics
• Application monitoring and diagnostics using logs, system tools, and custom utilities
• Deploy application code, update configuration files, and validate environment readiness
• Improve application environments by enhancing monitoring, alerting, automation, or documentation
• Identify root causes using system logs, job outputs, SQL traces, and performance metrics
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 7+ years IT technology support within a cross-functional Windows enterprise environment
• A diploma or degree from a post-secondary institution with a concentration in Information Technology or related, or equivalent experience
• Strong service management process skills including Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management
• Excellent MS Windows batch file and script writing skills.
• Experience working in an SLA managed service delivery environment
• Experience with Project Management and providing technical leadership on initiatives
• Hands on experience supporting multi-tier enterprise applications (application services, batch components, and database layers)
• Experience troubleshooting issues across Windows servers, application logs, batch processes, and SQL Server
• Experience supporting multiple environment tiers (QA, IST, UAT, Staging, Production)
• Knowledge of ITIL Framework
• Familiarity with IT Operations Management tools such as monitoring dashboards, log aggregators, SIEM systems, and ITSM ticketing platforms.
Preferred Experience:
• GECS or Control M
• Intel server environments & Perl
• High availability/banking systems
• Batch workflow design & troubleshooting
• Application support (Windows services, configs, integrations, DB)
• WBDK, Wealthview, Ovation, or RFS
• Azure & Dev Ops automation
• Strong communication skills
• Microsoft/Azure certifications (asset)
