What is the Opportunity?

RBC Wealth Management Canada is looking for a Business Application Specialist (BAS) to join the Training & Development department. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing one-on-one and team training to RBC Dominion Securities branch teams. In helping them perform at their best, you will be essential in delivering application-based training, sharing best practices and consistently supporting them with the tools and resources needed to increase efficiency and identify opportunities.

Alongside a diverse, nation-wide team, you will have the opportunity to build trust and rapport with branch teams across RBC Wealth Management Canada via training sessions, to help position Training & Development as a reliable partner to the field.

What will you do?
  • Deliver personalized technology training and coaching in-person and virtually to an assigned portfolio of branches for account administration, portfolio management, trading, client relationship management, wealth management, and business development.
  • Conduct effective discovery to understand Advisor/Management team’s needs, challenges and workflows, and adoption gaps where technology can improve efficiency and client outcomes.
  • Handle questions, objections, and challenges through effective problem-solving and application expertise, reinforcing best practices and correct system usage.
  • Proactively offer tailored training recommendations based on available training & adoption data and specific areas of branch focus aligned to branch priorities and business goals.
  • Encourage adoption of new tools and processes, supporting the firm in realizing long-term value and a strong return on technology investments.
  • Deliver monthly thought-leadership branch presentations both in-person and virtually, showcasing applications processes and features to help IC teams realize key benefits for business success.
What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the wealth management industry.
  • In-branch experience with a strong understanding of business applications, processes, and tasks.
  • Aptitude toward learning new software, ability to multitask and ability to demonstrate and present essential information in a concise way.
  • Above average inter-personal skills, including the entrepreneurial perspectives of Investment Advisors.
Nice to Have
  • Strong public speaker; comfortable and able to clearly facilitate and deliver a message to a moderate sized group of peers.
  • Experience in a training or coaching capacity, along with a consulting and problem-solving skill set.

The expected salary range for the above position is $67,000-$110,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.

This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
