Senior Network Engineer – Cisco SD-WAN; IOS-XE

About the role

Senior Network Engineer – Cisco SD-WAN (IOS-XE) to lead the completion, stabilization, optimization, and operational transition of large-scale global SD‑WAN deployments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco SD-WAN technologies, enterprise routing and switching, network security integration, and complex migration projects. This role requires strong technical leadership, advanced troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to drive operational excellence across global network environments.

• Lead and execute global Cisco SD‑WAN (IOS-XE) migration activities, including complex and business‑critical sites.
• Manage post‑migration stabilization efforts and resolve network performance or connectivity issues.
• Optimize SD‑WAN policies, segmentation strategies, and traffic engineering configurations.
• Review, standardize, and remediate network configuration inconsistencies and design deviations.
• Enable and integrate Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) solutions within SD‑WAN environments.
• Perform network validation, UAT, NAT testing, performance benchmarking, and solution verification.
• Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex network incidents and provide detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and network design artifacts.
• Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and technical training to operations and support teams.
• Participate in governance meetings, project reviews, status reporting, and stakeholder communications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on network performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering and SD‑WAN environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Cisco SD‑WAN (IOS‑XE / Viptela), including vManage, vSmart, and vBond.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Proven experience in SD‑WAN migration, deployment, and operational support across global environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across SD‑WAN overlay and underlay networks.
• Experience with Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) solutions such as Zscaler or Cisco Umbrella is a plus.
• Knowledge of network automation tools such as Python and Ansible is preferred.
• Experience with network monitoring, performance management, and SLA reporting tools.
• CCNP certification preferred; CCIE is a plus.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
