Job Title:
Development Support/Quality Assurance Overview
The Development Support team works directly with development teams to provide early testing, create documentation (e.g., test cases, test briefs, QA Confluence pages), and handle tasks that allow Core QA to stay focused on in-game testing. This role serves as the first point of contact for development teams regarding feature health, testing progress, and adjustments to Core QA coverage. Development Support also fields design-related questions from Core QA and provides feedback to QA Leads and developers on assigned areas and features.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with development teams to perform early testing and create detailed documentation.
- Provide timely feedback to QA Leads and development teams on feature health and test coverage.
- Act as the primary contact for Core QA, fielding design and testing-related questions.
- Coordinate with development teams as the first point of contact for test requests and progress updates.
- Match Flow & Gameplay Systems Testing
- Ensure sessions progress without blockers to victory/failure conditions.
- Validate objective flow, timers, scoring systems, wave logic, and round transitions.
- Combat & AI Testing
- Verify AI behavior, pathfinding, and combat responses.
- Test enemy spawn logic, ability usage, cooldown systems, and host/client replication.
- Multiplayer Functionality Testing
- Test drop-in/drop-out co-op and synchronization across players.
- Validate matchmaking, network stability, and identify lag or desync issues.
- Verify spawn zones, objectives, and access areas.
- Test collisions, exploits, interactive objects, and consistency of lighting and materials.
- Performance & Stability Testing
- Identify issues with memory usage, framerate drops, and stability under load.
- Validate stability across hardware platforms.
- Monitor audio/visual streaming, pop-ins, and sync issues.
- Multiple development cycle experience, with focus on Online PVP & PVE game modes.
- Strong knowledge of testing across match flow, combat/AI, multiplayer, maps, and performance.
- Experience writing test briefs, playtest documentation, and estimating test scope/effort.
- Proficiency with bug tracking and test planning tools (e.g., Jira, Dev Track, Test Rail).
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, ensuring reproducibility and clarity.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration with QA, Dev, and Production.
- Adaptability to learn proprietary tools and pipelines.
- Experience with Unreal Engine .
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and Share Point .
- Adaptable teaching/mentoring skills for diverse learners.
The salary for this position is between CAD $65000 - $70000 annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
