As a senior technical individual contributor, you will evaluate existing workflows, bridge gaps in cloud scalability, and architect robust continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Operating within a cross-functional model, you will share modern best practices with development, QA, and product teams to optimize platform reliability, system uptime, and developer self-service capabilities.
Location:
Vancouver, BC (Hybrid - 4 days/week in-office)
Contract Duration: 6 months (with a high likelihood of extension)

Responsibilities
Automation & Infrastructure Evolution:
Drive the transition toward fully automated infrastructure by evaluating architecture bottlenecks and implementing scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) architectures.
CI/CD Pipeline Optimization:
Design, implement, and manage secure deployment pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and repeatable application releases across multiple active environments.
Cloud & Platform Engineering:
Architect and manage scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-optimized cloud infrastructure primarily utilizing AWS services.
Observability & Reliability Engineering:
Support the platform migration from Splunk to Datadog, establishing proactive monitoring frameworks, dashboards, alerting rules, and system reliability thresholds.
Production Support & Incident Management:
Lead the troubleshooting of complex production issues, coordinate root-cause analysis, and implement long-term engineering fixes to eliminate operational toil.
Dev Sec Ops Integration:
Incorporate security best practices, access controls, secrets management, and enterprise governance standards into automated delivery pipelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with software development, quality assurance, and product management teams to communicate technical progress, share best practices, and deliver unified infrastructure goals.
Qualifications
Core Technical Requirements
Professional
Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience in Dev Ops, systems engineering, or infrastructure-focused roles, ideally with a background in mid-tier to large enterprise environments.
Cloud
Infrastructure: Senior-level expertise in cloud platforms, with a strong focus on AWS architecture and organization.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Deep understanding of IaC principles and hands-on scripting experience utilizing Power Shell, Terraform, or Cloud Formation.
Containerization & Orchestration:
Solid technical understanding of containerized environments, preferably utilizing Kubernetes.
CI/CD & Git Ops Ecosystem:
Mastery of continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (such as Git Lab CI, Jenkins, or Git Hub) alongside Git Ops CD tools like ArgoCD.
Observability Tooling:
Demonstrated experience working with system monitoring and observability suites, specifically managing platforms like Splunk and Datadog.
Soft Skills & Mindset
Adaptability:
Exceptional flexibility and a resilient mindset; comfortable pivoting quickly alongside evolving project requirements and new technical directions.
Communication &
Collaboration:
Outstanding articulation skills with the ability to explain complex technical challenges and system progress clearly to cross-functional partners.
Emerging Tech Curiosity: A natural curiosity for exploring emerging technologies, with a strong interest in identifying opportunities to apply AI-driven solutions to automation and delivery pipelines.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
