Computer Systems Technician at UBC

Support UBC's academic environment as a Faculty Computer Systems Technician in the Land and Food Systems department. Provide vital technical assistance and ensure smooth operation of computing systems for faculty use.

In this role, you'll install and troubleshoot both hardware and software while managing equipment inventory. You'll also support Wi-Fi and VPN troubleshooting across university locations, maintain laptops, and assist with video services at events, making a significant impact on user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot faculty computer systems

• Monitor software updates and patches

• Manage inventory and recycled equipment tracking

• Support maintenance of AV and meeting room devices

• Assist in video recording and AV needs during events

Requirements:

• Relevant degree or diploma with at least 3 years experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities

• Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and MS Office

• Open to diverse perspectives and committed to equity
