6-month contract Security Analyst role with a hybrid work environment located in downtown Vancouver.
OverviewAs part of an ongoing investment in enterprise cybersecurity, our client is hiring a Security Analyst to join their cyber team. In this role, you will be a key player on the Security Operations Center team, helping protect their networks, devices, and data from malicious threats. You will triage alerts, investigate incidents, and dig into malware to understand the underlying issues.
Your work will directly strengthen the organization's detection and response capabilities and help build the tools and processes that make the team more effective.
- Maintain and enhance threat hunting capabilities.
- Triage security alerts and conduct incident investigations.
- Analyze malware and other threats to uncover attack vectors.
- Develop and refine tools and processes for the SOC.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with 2–4 years of experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, or Information Security Technology.
- Strong grasp of malware, phishing, Defense in Depth, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and solid knowledge of M365 Security tools, Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms (Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic), EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, anti‑spam solutions, and familiarity with Windows, Linux, and/or Mac OS event logs.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, DNS, DHCP), query and scripting languages, and experience with SOAR tools.
This role pays between $50–60 per hour.
