The City of Vancouver is prioritizing applicants for its Urban Forestry Division as a GIS Analyst. This position is vital for analysis, design, and support of GIS solutions, including the UFO asset management system. Collaborate with teams across Urban Forestry and Park Operations, manage projects, and guide junior staff while ensuring strategic insights through advanced spatial data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze client needs and elicit business requirements
• Develop and configure custom GIS solutions on ESRI platform
• Facilitate discussions to improve processes and standards
• Implement data governance best practices
• Plan and document GIS solution rollouts
Requirements:
• Two-year diploma in Computer Systems Technologies
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro and SQL
• Knowledge of programming languages:
Python and FME
• Experience in project management methodologies
• Understanding of the municipal GIS landscape
