Central 1 is seeking a Data Engineer for a 6‑month term, with the possibility of extension. The role focuses on designing, building and optimizing Microsoft Fabric and Azure‑based data pipelines to deliver actionable insights and support smarter decision‑making for Central 1 and its members.

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory (ADF), ensuring scalable, efficient and reliable data ingestion, transformation and orchestration.
• Implement data security and compliance best practices, including role‑based access control, encryption at rest and in transit, and secure credential management with Azure Key Vault.
• Collaborate with data governance stakeholders to enforce data quality standards, lineage tracking and metadata management within the Azure ecosystem.
• Design and implement monitoring solutions using Azure services such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to ensure platform reliability and proactive issue detection.
• Deliver data solutions aligned with approved architecture, adhering to design standards, governance frameworks and the prescribed Azure technology stack.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, providing input into design decisions and best practices.
• Develop, configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops for efficient, repeatable automated deployment across all environments.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation in Confluence to support knowledge sharing and ongoing operations.
• Adhere to ITIL‑based incident and change management processes, using Service Now for incident triage and resolution.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying recurring issues, implementing preventative measures and optimizing workflows to reduce system failures.
• Conduct peer code reviews through pull requests to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Develop, maintain and optimize Power BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, efficient data models and DAX measures.
• Deliver against project commitments by contributing to design, development and implementation of data engineering solutions in line with timelines and quality standards.
• Perform additional duties as required to support Central 1’s business objectives.
• Participate in 24‑hour on‑call responsibilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering roles with hands‑on experience in Azure cloud platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, T‑SQL and Azure Storage services.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for developing data transformation and processing workflows.
• Experience designing and building data lakes and warehouses, ideally within payments or financial services environments.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data pipeline design and orchestration patterns.
• Experience applying Dev Ops practices to data solutions, including CI/CD with Azure Dev Ops.
• Experience integrating financial systems and handling sensitive data (e.g., PII) in compliance with regulatory and security standards.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including Desktop, Service and Gateway, with strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M) and data modeling.
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server or Azure SQL and optimizing query performance.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and scalable solutions.
• Solid understanding of IT operations, support processes and enterprise environments.
• Well‑developed analytical, problem‑solving, organizational and time‑management skills.
