Description

Reporting to the Director, Corporate IT Services, the AI Enablement Specialist is the bridge between powerful AI tools and the people across our organization. The role will work directly with citizen developers, business users, and IT / Product teams — helping them discover, adopt, and use AI responsibly, and shaping how AI becomes part of how we work.

Working across three areas of accountability, the role will proactively equip people with skills and confidence to use AI tools effectively, manage subscriptions, accounts, and responsible usage policies, and champion responsible AI use and surface insights back to leadership.

Key Areas of Accountability Enablement, Adoption, and Training
  • Enable non-technical users across the business to safely and effectively use approved AI tools (e.g., copilots, automation platforms, low-code/no-code AI features) building trust, confidence and accountability in their usage
  • Facilitate AI tooling (SLMs, LLMs, Claude, Copilot, Microsoft Foundry) for technical back-end engineering and product teams.
  • Develop and deliver onboarding programs for non-technical business users adopting AI tools, including workshops, self-serve guides, and one-to-one coaching, while continually refining content based on feedback and evolving needs.
  • Partner with managers and department heads to identify where AI can add the most value and design targeted adoption plans.
  • Facilitate the AI Working group, leading meetings, documenting use cases, and ensuring transparent communication and follow-through on agreed actions.
  • Support citizen developers in building lightweight AI-powered workflows, while collaborating effectively and bridging communication with back‑end engineering resources.
  • Run regular enablement sessions, lunch‑and‑learns, and Q‑A drop‑ins to sustain engagement and foster a culture of continuous learning and curiosity.
  • Act as a first point of contact for AI‑related questions from business users, taking ownership of inquiries and proactively driving them toward resolution, escalating complex technical issues to IT, Engineering, or Product teams as required.
Governance
  • Own the day‑to‑day administration of AI tool licenses and subscriptions across the organization, including role‑based access, seat/license allocation, provisioning, and offboarding.
  • Monitor usage data to optimize license and credit spend, and make evidence‑based recommendations on renewals, subscription, or tier changes.
  • Keep a current inventory of AI tools, regularly monitor the industry, and recommend emerging technologies and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain an Acceptable AI Use policy in collaboration with Compliance, and IT Security, ensuring it remains current and reflects responsible, ethical, and informed decision‑making.
  • Act as a first point of escalation for concerns around AI outputs, data handling, or policy questions demonstrating sound judgment and ownership in resolving issues raised by end users.
Advocacy and Partnership
  • Collaborate with P&C and the L&D team to embed AI literacy into broader skills development programs, while actively contributing ideas and sharing knowledge.
  • Work closely within IT to ensure AI tools meet security, data governance, and integration requirements before business‑wide rollout.
  • Provide feedback to IT, Engineering, and Product teams on user experience, capability gaps, and emerging demands, communicating insights clearly and constructively.
  • Help shape the data strategy by tracking employee use of AI tools and shared data, supporting data governance decisions.
Qualifications Education / Certification / Licenses
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Prosci Change Management certification an asset
  • Technical product management certification an asset
  • Azure cloud services and data technology certifications an asset.
Experience
