Engage with users as a Desktop Support Analyst II at UBC, providing technology solutions and support across various platforms. This full-time position emphasizes hardware and software troubleshooting in a collaborative environment.
As a member of UBC IT Desktop Services, you'll play a vital role consulting with user groups to understand their technical needs. Your expertise will encompass maintaining desktops, virtual environments, and peripheral hardware to maximize system efficiency for an expansive user base at the Point Grey Campus. Customer interaction and technical problem-solving will be essential to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and maintain microcomputer hardware and software
• Track and prioritize service requests through ticket systems
• Implement security measures for all equipment and software
• Provide training and support to users in the Desktop Support portfolio
• Maintain documentation according to established standards
Requirements:
• Experience in desktop support or IT services
• Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network systems
• Ability to consult with varied user groups
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and service requests
• Commitment to staying updated with emerging technologies
