The mission of the Data Governance department is to enable the governance of data across the enterprise.

Aritzia is growing and our Data Governance team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for defining and shaping the future of Aritzia’s data architecture. As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will lead the strategic standards definition, and governance of Aritzia’s enterprise data architecture. Reporting directly to the Director of Data Governance (with a matrix link to Global Architecture), you will not be building pipelines in isolation;

instead, you will define the architectural guardrails, canonical models, and semantic standards that empower our engineering squads, analytics teams, and business domains to build trusted, scalable data capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in establishing architecture reviews, driving AI-ready data literacy, and ensuring enterprise-wide data interoperability across our modern tech stack. As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will:
Translate business priorities into enterprise data architecture strategies, multi-year target‑state data roadmaps, and federated data product standards. Establish enterprise data standards for canonical models, shared vocabularies, reference data mappings, data flow diagrams, and business glossaries. Oversee the central repository of data model system architectures, semantic artifacts, reference patterns, and reusable assets; driving accountability across authoring teams (Solution Delivery, Data & Analytics, Global Architecture) to maintain compliant, accessible, and up‑to‑date documentation.

Represent Data Governance in formal Architecture Review Boards to evaluate proposed solutions for data target‑state alignment. Drive architecture governance by leading standards development, architectural reviews, reusable patterns, and best practices that improve consistency, quality, security, and scalability in partnership with Analytics Engineering Excellence. Global Architecture and Engineering Enablement teams. Assess and mature enterprise data and governance capabilities through benchmarking, capability assessments, and target‑state roadmaps.

Enable technical & business teams by promoting data literacy across the enterprise through teaching, coaching, and leading tailored Communities of Practice (COP) sessions.

The Enterprise Data Architect has:
Proven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, or equivalent experience;
Master's preferred. 15+ years of progressive experience across enterprise data, analytics, data platforms, enterprise architecture, or data engineering leadership, including significant experience in principal or lead architecture roles. Deep expertise…
