Supply Chain Planner – Contract Role

1‑Year contract term. Hybrid work environment at the Vancouver Head Office with year‑round travel to 3rd‑party vendor locations for physical inventory counts.

Responsibilities
  • Generate and maintain monthly, weekly, and daily order files accounting for supply, demand, production, and transportation factors.
  • Ensure inventories target levels; facilitate required actions with Sales, Planning, Product Supply, and Transportation personnel.
  • Arrange shipments and oversee order scheduling.
  • Make quick, calculated supply‑chain decisions that impact KPIs for on‑time shipment, working capital, and operational costs.
  • Act as liaison with manufacturing facilities and 3rd‑party operations to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Resolve shipping issues, mitigating customer, operational, and financial impacts.
  • Manage equipment allocation, cut‑offs, freight rates, routes, detention charges, and diversions via the TMS system.
  • Monitor shipping progression and communicate with internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Prepare and provide required reports; cross‑train in other supply‑chain operations as needed.
  • Participate in tactical meetings and liaise with senior management and key personnel across departments.
  • Monitor and resolve accounts payable issues, verify discrepancies, reconcile vendor statements, and approve freight payments.
Qualifications
  • At least three years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably in lumber, pulp, or manufacturing.
  • Post‑secondary degree in Business Administration, Wood Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience with ocean and/or rail freight pricing, routes, regulations, and services.
  • Proficient navigation of a transportation management system.
  • Knowledge of the distribution process for commodities such as lumber, pulp, and paper.

Salary range: $70,000.00–$ (base salary only). Comprehensive benefits and incentive plans are also offered.
