Teck Buyer - Position

Position: Teck Buyer - Contract Position
Take on a Buyer role at Teck in Vancouver, BC, as a contractor. This hybrid position focuses on effectively managing purchasing orders and supplier partnerships across multiple sites.

In this role, the Buyer will be responsible for contract management and the onboarding process for contingent workers. You will handle the logistics of international shipping while maintaining compliance with Teck's procurement standards. Building relationships with internal teams and vendors will be essential to ensuring smooth procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify purchase requisitions for completion

• Convert requisitions to purchase orders via Teck's ERP systems

• Acquire competitive quotes for significant purchase orders

• Deliver exceptional service by addressing purchasing inquiries

• Manage hardware shipments between Teck locations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, management, or related field

• Minimum of 5 years in procurement roles

• Experience with SAP MM and Ariba tools

• Strong problem-solving abilities with procurement issues

• Effective time management and prioritization skills
