Hours: Standard hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PT, with some flexibility as needed to support customers, internal teams, and time-sensitive projects across Canada.

About Origin Sustainables

Origin Sustainables is a Canadian supplier and importer of sustainable food service packaging for multi-unit restaurant groups, QSR brands, and enterprise customers across Canada.

We are not a catalogue packaging distributor. Much of our work involves complex custom programs: sourcing, product specs, samples, supplier quotes, MOQs, lead times, quality checks, freight, inventory planning, broadline distributor requirements, and rollout details that all need to line up before we commit to a customer.

We work directly with restaurant brands while often fulfilling through broadline distributors and other channel partners. The complexity makes the work interesting, but also sensitive to details. A good customer program requires clear requirements, accurate assumptions, disciplined follow-through, and tight coordination across sales, sourcing, pricing, operations, logistics, and supply chain.

About the Role

We are hiring a Commercial Solutions Manager to help turn customer requests and account opportunities into clear, executable, and commercially sound programs. The role sits between customer needs, account strategy, sourcing, pricing, operations, logistics, supply chain, and implementation.

This role owns the execution of solutions development and implementation: clarifying what needs to happen, aligning the right internal owners, tracking commitments, escalating risks, and keeping customer work moving with urgency and precision. The goal is to help us deliver what we have promised, avoid preventable misses, and give customers a more responsive and consistent experience working with us.

This is a customer-facing commercial execution role. It is not a traditional sales hunter role, and it is not an order desk or administrative support role. You will work directly with customers where needed to clarify requirements, gather missing information, coordinate details, and keep active work moving, while account owners remain responsible for the overall customer relationship and commercial direction.

Success in this role means we are more responsive and easier for customers to work with. Customer opportunities move forward faster, internal teams have clearer information, proposals are better prepared, and follow-through is more reliable.

What You Will Do Customer Intake and Scoping
  • Run structured intake for customer requests, account initiatives, RFQs/RFPs, new SKU opportunities, distributor requirements, and rollout projects.
  • Clarify what the customer is trying to solve, including priorities such as cost, quality, speed, supply reliability, sustainability, brand presentation, distributor fit, launch timing, or another business need.
  • Engage directly with customers and account owners to clarify requirements, including product specs, samples, volumes, timelines, delivery locations, distributor/DC requirements, service expectations, and decision timing.
  • Establish what information is needed before sourcing, pricing, operations, supply chain, or logistics begins work.
  • Turn unclear customer or sales requests into practical internal briefs that outline what we know, what is missing, key assumptions, options to explore, pricing scenarios to consider, owners, next steps, and required decisions.
Solutions Development and Internal Execution
  • Own the execution path for customer solutions from scoping through proposal, approval, implementation, and follow-through.
  • Coordinate internal owners across Sourcing, Pricing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and leadership so active customer work keeps moving.
  • Work across internal teams to validate product options, supplier constraints, costs, margins, inventory exposure, fulfillment assumptions, rollout timing, and execution risks.
  • Keep one clear view of active customer work, including open items, deadlines, owners, assumptions, approvals, risks, decisions, commitments, and next steps.
