Position: Contract Buyer at Teck Resources
Become a key player in procurement as a Contract Buyer at Teck Resources in downtown Vancouver. Oversee purchase orders and coordinate shipping to ensure efficiency across operations.

As a Buyer reporting to the Lead in Procurement, you will execute purchase orders, manage onboarding for contingent workers, and handle international shipping for Teck.

Your role will entail collaborating with various Buyers and Supply Management teams, while also guiding internal resources on purchasing policies. The position requires close relationships with vendors and project managers to maintain exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and competitiveness

• Convert requisitions to timely purchase orders using ERP systems

• Manage contingent worker contracting and onboarding processes

• Coordinate intercompany shipments of hardware across sites

• Maintain constructive relationships with all stakeholders

Requirements:

• University degree in finance, management, or business

• Minimum of five years' experience in procurement

• Knowledge of SAP MM and Ariba is an asset

• Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of shipping terms

• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively
