Overview
Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a talented, dedicated, customer service focused individual to join the Engineering department as Regular - Maintenance Minor Repair. This individual will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. This individual will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills.

- Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front of house areas.
- Carry out guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance.
- Repair mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment as required, with related skills and experience.
- Demonstrate good communication with guests and colleagues.
- A minimum of one year general maintenance experience is required
- Must be available to work various shifts, especially WEEKEND shifts (including graveyard and holidays
) - Basic understanding and knowledge of bathroom plumbing fixtures, door hardware and HVAC is required
- Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision
- Previous experience in a hotel/service industry is an asset
- Must be an excellent team player and able to work and adapt with a diverse group of individuals and guests
- Must be able to engage customers in a professional conversation at all times
- Must be able to prioritize and complete assigned tasks
- Must be excellent in multi-tasking
- Refined verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of a second language is an asset
- Must be proficient in using electronic devices and computers
- Frequent standing throughout shift
- Frequent walking throughout the shift
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending stairs, ladders and ramps
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
