We are seeking an experienced Building Operator to support a growing retail property portfolio across British Columbia. Reporting to the Property Manager, you will play a hands‑on role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building systems while maintaining strong relationships with tenants and contractors.

Your Responsibilities- You’ll oversee the daily operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical building systems, ensuring safe and efficient performance.
- In this role, you’ll manage preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, boilers, generators, life safety systems, and related equipment.
- You’ll monitor building environmental systems and maintain detailed health and safety logs and maintenance records.
- You’ll perform minor repairs and general maintenance tasks while coordinating contractors and sub‑contractors as required.
- You’ll respond to tenant requests and provide occasional after‑hours support for urgent building issues or escalations, coordinating with the Property Manager as needed.
- You’ll support sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency measures across the portfolio.
- Minimum 5 years of related building operations experience in commercial or retail environments
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, life safety equipment, and general building maintenance procedures
- Understanding of Health and Safety programs including WHMIS, Lockout and Tag out, and fall protection
- Ability to read mechanical, architectural, electrical, and structural drawings
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned region
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills
- Basic computer proficiency, understanding of Yardi or similar ERP is considered an asset
