VIA Rail Passenger Car Cleaner

Support VIA Rail in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of passenger railway cars in a permanent role. This opportunity involves indoor and outdoor cleaning duties across various shifts.

VIA Rail is looking for a dedicated Passenger Car Cleaner to join its Vancouver or Mission Maintenance Centers. Candidates should possess a high school diploma and have experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning. This role involves specific cleaning responsibilities, including vacuuming, sanitizing, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in passenger areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize interior and exterior of railway cars

• Vacuum carpets and wipe down tables and seating areas

• Maintain washrooms, showers, and kitchen cleanliness

• Drain and refill potable water reservoirs

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Requirements:

• High School Diploma is required

• Valid driver's license with a clean record

• Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or maintenance

• Capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

• Strong focus on quality and efficiency
