Building Service Worker

Position: Full-Time Building Service Worker
Join Atira Women's Resource Society as a full-time Building Service Worker in Downtown Eastside, Vancouver. This role focuses on essential cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all.

This full-time position operates Wednesday to Sunday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. As a Building Service Worker, you will wash floors, clean bathrooms, and maintain shared areas like stairwells and kitchens. Your work will contribute to Atira's commitment to community support while addressing broader social issues like gendered violence and systemic barriers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain floors, carpets, and bathrooms

• Dispose of refuse and clean windows regularly

• Dust and polish furniture and fixtures

• Report any damage or problems to the Building Manager

• Uphold cleanliness of common areas and grounds

Requirements:

• One month recent related experience

• Valid First Aid and WHMIS certificate

• Ability to perform heavy cleaning tasks

• Understanding of anti-oppression and equity practices

• Comfort in a harm reduction environment
