Facility Utility Worker

Position: Facility Utility Worker Island
Join the Vancouver Island Conference Center as a Facility Utility Worker, focusing on event setup, janitorial tasks, and operational support. This role is guaranteed for 20 hours per week from September to June.

Under the supervision of the Working Facility Supervisor, you will perform essential maintenance tasks to keep the facility in optimal condition. This includes setting up and tearing down equipment for events, operating janitorial tools, and maintaining cleanliness in the interior and exterior areas. You will also assist other departments as needed and contribute to a cooperative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and take down facility equipment for various events

• Maintain cleanliness of the building and surroundings

• Operate forklifts and floor scrubbers safely

• Assist with repair and maintenance tasks as required

• Establish relationships with staff and facility users

Requirements:

• Experience with multi-use facility operations

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Ability to obtain CPR certification

• Knowledge of customer service practices

• Flexible availability for various shifts
