Be part of the dedicated team at Nova Scotia Health as a Utility Worker, where you will play an essential role in ensuring hospital cleanliness. Your tasks will include mopping, dusting, and carpet shampooing.
In this role, reporting to the Assistant Manager, you’ll perform various cleaning activities vital to patient care. Candidates should possess a Grade 12/GED or relevant experience, with a focus on floor care experience preferred. You'll contribute to maintaining hygiene and safety standards while working on a casual relief basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain cleanliness in all hospital areas
• Perform scrubbing and waxing of floors
• Execute waste and chemical spill cleanup
• Launder linens and assist with room setups
• Clean windows and respond to emergency cleanup needs
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• Prior cleaning and floor care experience preferred
• Additional language skills in French an asset
• Flexible availability for shifts
• Ability to follow safety protocols
