As a part of the Housekeeping team, you are responsible to maintain cleanliness and tidiness in your work area at all times. Ensuring that all residents' needs are taken into consideration and that they are treated in a caring and professional manner is an integral part of this role.
This Casual position is for leave coverage, and other operational needs. (not PT position)
Available Shifts:
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Public Areas Cleaning:
Key Responsibilities
- Clen and sanitize public washrooms, lobbies, library, bistro, gym, and recreational spaces.
- Maintain staff locker rooms, lunchrooms, laundry room, and kitchen janitor areas.
- Perform routine cleaning: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, spot-cleaning glass and upholstery.
- Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., I-mop, auto floor scrubber, carpet extractor) where required.
- Support laundry duties: wash, dry, fold, and deliver linens, towels, and uniforms.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and restock janitor rooms as needed.
- Monitor building conditions and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Adhere to infection control and facility cleanliness protocols.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the manager.
Suite Cleaning Services
- Provide scheduled housekeeping and suite cleaning for residents according to their preferences and OPAL standards.
- Always knock and greet residents courteously before entering.
- Change and wash bedding; make beds according to resident preferences.
- Dust, vacuum, and mop floors using proper cleaning methods and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, kitchens, and high-touch areas.
- Empty and sanitize garbage, recycling, and organic waste bins.
- Clean and polish fixtures, mirrors, glass, and stainless steel surfaces.
- Replenish supplies and ensure all areas are well maintained.
- Observe each resident’s personal preferences and routines, and update the Housekeeping Manager so their service profile remains current — ensuring consistent and personalized care.
- In addition to regular housekeeping, perform scheduled deep cleaning of suites within assigned time slots to maintain each unit in top condition.
- Report any maintenance issues or concerns in the suite to the Housekeeping Manager promptly, and follow up if repairs have not been completed by the maintenance team.
Your Skills:
- Two (2) years in commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in hotels or senior retirement homes
