Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a Building Maintenance Engineer at UBC Hospital. This role focuses on the operational integrity of facility systems critical to patient care in a healthcare setting.
The Shift Engineer 4 will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including operating boilers and repairing air handling systems. Candidates must hold a valid 4th Class Power Engineer certificate and have a minimum of two years' relevant experience. You will play a vital role in ensuring the facility complies with safety standards while fostering an inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and operate heating and pneumatic tube systems
• Perform electrical and plumbing repairs within the facility
• Assist trades personnel with project needs
• Read technical blueprints and specifications
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Requirements:
• Valid 4th Class Power Engineer certificate
• Two years’ relevant job experience
• Strong communication abilities for teamwork
• Capable of performing physically demanding tasks
• Excellent organizational skills to manage work
