Janitor and Maintenance Worker

Contribute to Lookout Housing and Health Society as a Janitor and Maintenance Worker in Vancouver, BC. This casual role focuses on cleanliness and maintenance across the facility.

The Janitor and Maintenance Worker reports directly to the Site Manager and embodies the mission of Lookout in supporting adults with low income. Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, mechanical upkeep, and both internal and external maintenance duties. Successful candidates will ensure the site meets health and safety standards and effectively support new staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, wash, and wax floors regularly

• Clean and disinfect surfaces throughout the premises

• Remove garbage and empty recycling containers

• Monitor and maintain all building equipment

• Assist with repairs, plumbing, and landscaping tasks

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education and two years experience

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently in a diverse setting

• Clear Criminal Record Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
